2025 World “Virtual” Indoor Rowing Indoor Championships Qualification

Attention rowers, gymgoers, Crossfitters and Hyroxers etc. how would you like to be part of a global event run by the Olympic federation? For the first time since the Covid pandemic the 2025 World Indoor Rowing Championships will be a fully virtual event that brings together elite athletes, amateurs, and fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to compete in an online environment in real time over the last two weekends in February.

The qualification process is currently underway and on January 19 Community Rowing is hosting an Open Heat qualifier event for the WRICH at our facility in Greystones Wicklow. We are inviting motivated fitness enthusiasts of all ages and abilities to join us. The event is open to everyone you do not need to be a seasoned rower to take part. Participants can choose one or two individual race distances – 500m and 2000m – and/or two team relay races over the 2K and 5K distances so there is something for everyone. A relay team must be comprised of 4 men or 4 women or a mixed crew of 2 men and 2 women.

This is a great opportunity to see where you rank compared to other indoor rowers around the world in your age category while aiming to qualify for the finals in February. We will have 2025WRICH merchandise prizes for the winners of each race category at our qualifying event. Register here

To have a chance of qualifying for the finals in February you must submit your time for your chosen event(s) by January 20 on the World Rowing Entry Site.  Following the Open Heats the top 150 competitors for each gender and weight category (LWT & HWT) per continental time zone will qualify for the finals in addition to the top ten from every age category. Following the finals all competitors will receive an official World Rowing age group ranking with medals awarded to the top 3 in all age groups.
